How to choose the best dog poop bags

How to choose the best dog poop bags

Which type of bag (biodegradable, compostable or recyclable) best suits your needs?

The use you give the bags, and the disposal alternatives are some of the variables that determine the answer to this question.

Biodegradable bags are a good option if you want to use them for food waste. These bags do not produce dangerous methane gas emissions because they decompose in a landfill. However, if you're on a tight budget, biodegradable bags may not be the best choice as they often cost more than other types of bags. Compostable bags are a suitable alternative for dog waste. In contrast to biodegradable bags, compostable bags can be disposed of in your home compost bin. This means they don’t take up space in landfills. Although more expensive than biodegradable bags, compostable bags are better for the environment.

Which bag size (small, medium or large) do you need? Most dog owners are familiar with the routine: Grab a bag (or two) and get ready to pick up your dog before heading out for a walk. But what happens when they realize you don't have a bag? Or even worse: Do you have the wrong size bag with you? It's important to know how to choose the right bag size for the job because no one wants to be the person who leaves a large pile of steaming dog poop on the sidewalk.

A small bag should be sufficient for small dogs. However, you will need a larger bag if you have a medium or large dog, preferably one large enough to tie at the top. And if you have multiple dogs, you may even need a jumbo-sized bag. The last thing you want is to run out of room in your pack halfway through the hike!

So next time you grab a few bags before a walk, make sure they're the right size. Other pedestrians will appreciate it. How many bags do you need per day, week or month?

How often do you scoop dog poop? daily? twice daily? Further? Two tablespoons per day would equal 14 times per month. And if you only use one sachet per application, you will need 14 sachets per month. However, let's say you only take it once a day. It's still 7 bags per week or 30 to 31 bags per month. Those of us who have lots of pets are the next group. Since I have three small dogs, I'm constantly picking up. I eat at least a box of 40 bags of poop every two weeks. This equates to around 160 bags of poop per month! Wow, that really adds up when you think about it, don't you think? Next time you go grocery shopping, purchase an extra box (or two) of poop bags so you're prepared for anything.
